The Federal Government has supplied reproductive health equipment and medical commodities to Gombe State to strengthen Primary Health Centres (PHCs) across the state.
The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, who handed over the items in Gombe, said the intervention was to complement the state government’s efforts in expanding access to quality healthcare.
Pate noted that the initiative, which will be replicated in all 36 states, is part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the health sector, adding that Gombe was selected as the starting point.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya, while receiving the items, commended the president for the support, describing the gesture as timely and critical to the state’s healthcare reforms.
The State Coordinator of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Mr. Abba Ibrahim Musa, said the intervention would strengthen maternal and child health services and equip frontline facilities to meet the needs of women, children and vulnerable populations.
