The Youth Farmers Organization for Agricultural Development in Nigeria has honoured Africa’s Businessman, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, and Vice President of Dangote Industries Limited, Devakumar Edwin, with Merit Awards of Excellence for their contributions to national development and youth empowerment.

The awards were presented during a two-day advocacy visit and tour of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in Lagos. The youth farmers described the multi-billion-dollar facility as “a national pride and a beacon of hope for Nigeria’s economic transformation.”

National President of the group, Abdulrahman Umar Etudaye, who led the delegation, said Dangote’s recognition as Grand Patron of the organization was in appreciation of his commitment to nation-building and economic growth.

“Alhaji Aliko Dangote remains a shining example of how private sector leadership can drive national progress. His investments continue to create opportunities for young Nigerians, particularly in agriculture and industrial development,” Etudaye said.

Edwin was also conferred with the Merit Award of Excellence as Patron for his leadership and dedication to advancing Nigeria’s economy.

The youth farmers commended the refinery’s technology, production capacity, and safety standards, describing it as proof of Nigeria’s ability to achieve industrial greatness through local expertise.

“The Dangote Refinery is not just an industrial facility; it is a symbol of what Nigerians can achieve through innovation, hard work, and patriotism. This project will reduce our dependence on imported petroleum products and create thousands of jobs for our youth,” Etudaye added.
