Esanad Consult Limited has partnered the National Productivity Centre (NPC), Kwara State Office, to train officers of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) on how to identify and counter fake news and AI-generated content through the Esanad Verification Framework.
The training, held at the Federal Secretariat Conference Hall, Ilorin, provided participants with practical tools to detect and curb the spread of digital falsehoods, combining lectures with case studies on digital ethics and media integrity.
A member of Esanad’s Advisory Board and retired NOA Deputy Director, Babaijo Otepola, said the framework was inspired by the Islamic principle of Isnad (verification and accountability), adapted for modern information management. He urged participants to become champions of truth in their communities.
Esanad Consult’s Managing Director, Mr. Ganiyu Yusuf Opeyemi, said the initiative was part of the firm’s drive to promote ethical communication and national productivity through verified information. According to him, NOA was chosen because of its role in promoting truthful communication and civic awareness.
A consultant with Esanad, Barrister Nurudeen Yusuf Olanrewaju, who is also Registrar at the Court of Appeal, highlighted the legal implications of misinformation under the Cybercrime Act 2015, warning that offenders could face fines, jail terms or both.
Commending the effort, the State Coordinator of the NPC described fake news as a major threat to national productivity and praised Esanad for its innovative training model.
The NOA Director in Kwara State, Alhaji Dare Olurotimi Abdulganiyu, described the programme as timely, given the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence in media. “As information managers, there is no way you will not need this training. I urge you to translate the knowledge gained into action,” he told the participants.
Other attendees, including NOA officials Mr. Yaqob Ibrahim Abubakar, Mrs. Omole Oluwakemi and Mr. Taofeeq Waheed, also commended the workshop as impactful, saying it would improve how government information is verified before dissemination.

Speaking after the session, Mr. Opeyemi reaffirmed Esanad’s commitment to promoting responsible digital communication, stressing that the goal was to equip Nigerians with critical thinking and verification skills to separate truth from falsehood.
