Gombe Kidnap syndicate – Oct. 08, 2025
The Gombe State Police Command has arrested a suspected kingpin of a cross-border kidnapping syndicate operating between Nigeria and the Republic of Cameroon.
The suspect, identified as Adamu Adamu, 30, from Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State, was apprehended on October 4, 2025, at about 5:00pm by operatives of Operation Hattara at Jauro Jatau Quarters in Akko Local Government Area of the state, following credible intelligence.
Parading the suspect before journalists, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, said Adamu confessed to his involvement in a series of kidnappings for ransom within Nigeria and Cameroon. He further disclosed vital information on the syndicate’s operations and arms cache.
According to Abdullahi, a follow-up operation conducted on October 5, 2025, in a mountainous area near Wuro Biriji Village, Song LGA of Adamawa State, led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles with breach numbers 05316 and 3553, 80 rounds of live ammunition, seven AK-47 magazines, chains, padlocks, a knife and four small bags.

He stressed that the suspect remains in custody while efforts are being intensified to track down his fleeing accomplices and dismantle the entire network.
“The Command wishes to assure the public that updates will be provided as further developments unfold,” the PPRO said.
