Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has reiterated his administration’s determination to reposition the state’s agricultural sector through enhanced collaboration with private investors and financial institutions.
The governor gave the assurance yesterday in Jalingo when he received a delegation from Origin Tech Group, led by its Executive Chairman, Prince Samuel Joseph Samuel, and a high-level team from Stanbic IBTC Bank Headquarters, led by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Wole Adeniyi.
The meeting, according to government sources, was a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on October 5, 2025, in Lagos between the Taraba State Government and Origin Tech Group, with Stanbic IBTC Bank as the financial partner. The agreement seeks to deepen cooperation under the Taraba Accelerated Agriculture and Rural Development Scheme (TAARDS).
Governor Kefas explained that the scheme, which he recently approved, is designed to stimulate massive food production, create jobs, and open up rural communities through mechanized farming and strategic road construction. He emphasized that his administration is fully committed to ensuring food security and economic diversification through sustained agricultural development.
He noted that the partnership with Origin Tech Group and Stanbic IBTC Bank aligns with his broader vision of modernizing the agricultural value chain, expanding agribusiness opportunities, and empowering farmers across the 16 local government areas of the state.
In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic IBTC Bank, Mr. Wole Adeniyi, announced the bank’s decision to adopt a school within Jalingo for full renovation and upgrade, as part of its corporate social responsibility. Similarly, the Executive Chairman of Origin Tech Group, Prince Samuel Joseph Samuel, pledged to collaborate with the bank on the Adopt-A-School Project, aimed at supporting education and community development in Taraba State.
