The Department of Fashion Design and Clothing Technology, Kaduna Polytechnic, is set to host its annual runway event designed to celebrate creativity and innovation among its final-year students.
The fashion show, with the theme “Retro Revival of Contemporary Fashion Twist,” is scheduled to hold on Saturday, October 18, at the institution’s main campus in Kaduna.

In a statement issued by the Head of Department, Dr. Alabi Usman, he noted that the event would present a dynamic blend of vintage aesthetics and modern design techniques, reflecting the students’ ability to integrate cultural heritage with contemporary fashion trends.
Usman explained that the event goes beyond a traditional exhibition, serving as a platform for innovation, empowerment, and storytelling through design.
“Fashion is storytelling, innovation, and identity, and every home needs a fashion designer,” he stated.
He added that the show would spotlight the evolving landscape of Nigerian fashion, with students showcasing collections that emphasise colour harmony, sustainability, and creative craftsmanship.

According to him, the runway also provides an avenue for fashion professionals, industry stakeholders, and enthusiasts to connect, share ideas, and explore collaborations aimed at advancing the creative sector.
