The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has extended its congratulations to Abubakar Sadiq Moyoyo, the immediate past Deputy President of the Association, alongside other prominent sports administrators, on their recent appointments to various national and international positions.
Moyoyo was appointed a member of the Taraba State Sports Development Commission, while the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, secured a place on the FIFA Men’s Club Competitions Committee.

Similarly, Aisha Falode was named to the FIFA Media and Communications Committee, while former NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, was appointed Deputy Chairman of the FIFA Men’s National Teams Competitions Committee. In the same vein, A.U. Mustapha, SAN, was appointed into the FIFA Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination Committee.
In separate letters signed by SWAN President, Mr. Isaiah Benjamin, and Secretary-General, Mr. Ikenna Okonkwo, the Association described the appointments as both prestigious and well-deserved, noting that they reflect the appointees’ unwavering commitment, professionalism and contribution to the growth of sports in Nigeria.
According to SWAN, the appointments are clear affirmations of their dedication, expertise, and passion for sports administration and development at both local and global levels.

“We write to formally congratulate you on your appointments. We are confident that your experience and expertise will continue to benefit FIFA and the global football community,” the statement read.
