Kurmi LG Chairman Hon. Moses Maihankali Re-elected, Promises Continuity in Development and Youth Empowerment

The re-elected Chairman of Kurmi Local Government Council, Hon. Moses Maihankali, has expressed gratitude to God, the people of Kurmi, and the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for facilitating his return to office following a decisive victory in the local government elections.

Speaking shortly after his inauguration in Jalingo, Hon. Maihankali acknowledged the confidence of his constituents. “I thank God for making it possible for me to return to office. I also appreciate Governor Agbu Kefas for creating the enabling environment that allowed us to participate effectively in the Just Conquered Local Government elections,” he said.

Reflecting on his previous tenure, Hon. Maihankali highlighted key achievements, including partnerships with cottage Hospital Baissa to cover medical bills for residents requiring surgery, sponsorship of local students in higher education, and the completion of long-standing infrastructural projects. “The Secretariat has been renovated, and contractors have resumed work on Road Construction, addressing a major concern of our people,” he added.

On his plans for the second term, the chairman assured that he would consolidate existing achievements while introducing new initiatives to further improve the welfare of residents.

On youth development, Hon. Maihankali disclosed that he is sponsoring five students pursuing medicine, providing each with a monthly allowance of N50,000 to support their education. “This initiative ensures our youths remain focused in a highly competitive field,” he said.

He also commended the state government for enhancing security, noting that previously volatile communities such as Solar have now returned to peace, allowing residents to resume normal life.

Concluding his remarks, Hon. Maihankali urged the people of Kurmi to continue praying for Governor Kefas emphasizing the importance of collective support in realizing the state’s transformation agenda.
