A group, Partners for National Economic Progress (PANEP), has accused the Petroleum and Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) of attempting to sabotage the Dangote Refinery.
The group staged a rally in Kaduna on Monday, describing the alleged actions of PENGASSAN as “economic terrorism.”
PANEP leaders, Comrade Igwe Ude-Umanta and Comrade Dahiru Umar Maishanu, claimed the union was acting on behalf of oil cabals threatened by the refinery’s operations.
The $20bn Dangote Refinery, which began operations in 2024 with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, has been touted as a game-changer for Nigeria’s economy.
The group urged President Bola Tinubu to guarantee crude oil supply to the refinery at the same rate offered to foreign buyers and to end petroleum importation or impose higher tariffs.

They also called on the government to act against alleged saboteurs and protect the refinery, which they said has already created jobs, conserved foreign exchange and boosted growth.
