Taraba Governor Defection – Nov. 4, 2025

Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has responded to speculations about his possible defection to the All Progressives Congress, saying his political direction will be made public next week.

Kefas stated this in Jalingo during a meeting with stakeholders of both the Peoples Democratic Party and the APC.

“I have been hearing the rumour like everyone else. By next week, everything will be made clear,” he said.

The meeting drew key figures from both parties and was convened to foster political cooperation and strengthen peace efforts in the state.

APC chairman in the state, Ibrahim El-Sudi, described the development as a positive step for Taraba, saying Kefas’ possible move to the APC would open a new political chapter for the state.

Representing the APC National Chairman, the party’s National Vice Chairman (North-East), Mustapha Salihu, urged political stakeholders to support the governor, noting that bipartisan collaboration would aid the state’s development.

Kefas declared that his decisions remain guided by the interest of the state, saying, “Every step I take will be for the benefit of Taraba people.”
