Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has registered on the All Progressives Congress (APC) newly introduced electronic voter (E-Voter) registration platform, as the ruling party commenced the rollout of the digital membership exercise across the country.
The governor performed the registration on Monday at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, shortly after the official launch of the initiative, which is aimed at digitising the party’s membership register and strengthening its internal administrative processes.
Speaking after the exercise, Idris described the E-Voter registration as a progressive step that would reposition the APC in line with global best practices, noting that technology-driven systems are critical to enhancing transparency, efficiency and accountability within political parties.
He said the digital platform would provide the party with a credible and verifiable membership database, reduce irregularities associated with manual registration processes and ensure that genuine party members, particularly at the grassroots, are adequately captured.
The governor expressed confidence that the initiative would further consolidate the APC’s growing influence in Kebbi State, adding that the party continues to enjoy widespread acceptance among the people due to its commitment to good governance and development.
Idris also commended the national leadership of the APC for embracing innovation, stressing that the E-Voter registration would strengthen internal democracy, improve mobilisation and enhance effective communication among party members nationwide.
State APC officials who witnessed the governor’s registration said the exercise would be extended to all local government areas and wards in Kebbi State, assuring members that adequate arrangements had been put in place to ensure a seamless process.
They urged party faithful to participate actively in the exercise, noting that the E-Voter registration forms part of broader reforms by the APC to modernise its operations and prepare the party for future political engagements.
