The Taraba Energised Progressive Youth Forum (TEPYOF) has thrown its weight behind Hon. Abdulrazak Gidado, popularly known as JAWAR, urging him to contest for the Taraba North Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

The call was contained in a statement signed by the Forum’s Public Relations Officer, Comrade Yohanna Moses, and issued to journalists in Jalingo.

According to the statement, TEPYOF has over 10,000 members spread across the Northern Senatorial Zone of Taraba State, noting that the endorsement reflects the growing agitation among youths for credible and people-oriented representation at the National Assembly.

The Forum described Hon. Gidado as a seasoned politician with vast experience, recalling that he had previously contested the governorship of Taraba State as well as the House of Representatives bye-election for Jalingo, Yorro and Zing Federal Constituency.

It noted that Gidado’s political journey, consistency and commitment to public service have positioned him as a leader with a deep understanding of grassroots politics and the developmental needs of Taraba North.

TEPYOF further recalled that Gidado joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in February 2023 alongside over 20,000 supporters, adding that his role as a member of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council and former UDP gubernatorial aspirant has equipped him with broad political exposure.

The Forum expressed confidence that Gidado’s leadership would drive youth empowerment, effective legislation and sustainable development in Taraba North, and therefore urged him to heed the call of the people and offer himself for service at the Red Chamber in 2027.
