Market women at the Jalingo Central Market have intensified calls on Hon. Abdulrazak Gidado, popularly known as JAWAR, to contest the Taraba North Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
The women, who spoke through their leaders, Madam Titi and Madam Saratu Simon, said Gidado has consistently demonstrated commitment to grassroots development and the welfare of ordinary citizens, describing him as a leader who prioritises the needs of the masses.

They assured him of their full support and votes should he decide to vie for the senatorial position, noting that the call for his candidature is gaining momentum across the district.
According to them, many residents of Taraba North are optimistic that Gidado will soon make his political intentions known, given his track record in public service and leadership.
The market women also commended Governor Agbu Kefas for his decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressing the belief that the move would attract more development to Taraba State.

Madam Saratu Simon advised the governor to work closely with individuals of integrity and experience, citing Hon. Gidado as one of those capable of contributing meaningfully to the transformation of the state.
Other supporters, including Madam Blessing Yakubu and Asabe Bitrus, said Gidado’s experience and dedication to public service make him a strong contender for the Taraba North senatorial seat.
Speaking on behalf of widows and petty traders at the market, they expressed confidence that Gidado’s emergence as senator, in collaboration with Governor Kefas, would translate into increased development across the state.

They added that the group is eagerly awaiting Hon. Gidado’s response to their call, expressing optimism that his leadership would bring sustained progress to Taraba North Senatorial District.
