The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State, Obidah Bitrus, has called on party members to remain loyal and steadfast despite recent defections hitting the state chapter.
In a statement issued in Jalingo, Bitrus said the PDP remains intact and is already building momentum for a strong outing in the 2027 general elections.

He disclosed that the party has launched a statewide tour to engage members directly and strengthen its grassroots structures. According to him, the initiative is aimed at reconnecting the leadership with party faithful and consolidating the party’s influence across the state.
Bitrus described the PDP as the only platform in Taraba that guarantees a level playing ground for all members. He said the party is quickly regaining its strength and remains committed to ensuring unity among members.
On the lingering internal leadership crisis, the chairman expressed optimism that a resolution is near, adding that measures are in place to ensure disputes are settled amicably.

He further stressed the need for members, particularly those who have attained voting age, to participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Bitrus described the Permanent Voter Card (PVC) as a strong tool for enthroning credible leaders and urged members to use it to exercise their franchise during elections.
